Mathews to lead three day team against Aussies

The Sri Lanka Cricket selectors has selected the Sri Lanka deputy skipper Angelo Mathews to lead the team for the three day match against the visiting Australians which is scheduled to be played from August 25, 26 and 27 at the P. Saravanamuttu International tadium.

The team approved by the Minister of Sports comprises 15 players includes Sri Lanka players Tharanga Paranavithana, Thilan Samaraweera, Dhammika Prasad, Dinesh Chandimal and Jeewan Mendis and other players who were in the Sri Lankan ‘A’ team which toured recently.

The Sunday Times-Bata Schoolboy Cricketer of the year 2011 Bhanuka Rajapakse of Royal College also has been included in the 15 man squad. Angelo Mathews (Captain), Tharanga Paranavitana (Vice Captain), Lahiru Thirimanne, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Kaushal Silva, Thilan Samaraweera, Jeevan Mendis, Kosala Kulasekera, Shaminda Eranga, Dhammika Prasad, Dilruwan Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, Thisara Perera, Kanishka Elvitigala, Sachitra Serasinghe.
