‘Bakmaha Asiriya’ at Amaya Hills

‘Bakmaha Asiriya’, a real Kandyan festive atmosphere will come alive at the Amaya Hills from 10 to 16 April in Heerassagala, Kandy. At ‘Rasawasala’, the main restaurant will interduce a special preparations on Avurudu theme buffets. ‘Mahanuwara Kada Veediya’ – a special dinner at ‘Rasawasala’ Terrace, ‘Pera Aparadiga Rasamusuwa’ - International buffet combination of 20 varieties of dishes, ‘Baaratha Rathriya’ - Indian Night including special Indian dishes and ‘Bakmaha Bojanaya’ - special lunch buffet on the day of the New Year are some of the attraction of the Amaya Hills.

Fresh Strawberry promotion will be a novel theme for festive season at Poolside and Dumbara Bar, where Fresh Strawberry Flambé, Strawberry Cheese Cake, Strawberry Glazed in Chocolate and Strawberry Crepes with Red Rum will hit the Avurudu festive table.

Amaya ‘Bakmaha Ullela’ will be held at the hotel Tennis Court on 14th April from 9.30 am onwards.

Avurudu with Chef Publis at MLH: ‘Lavinia Avurudu Asiriya 2011’

Sinhala and Tamil New Year is an annual event that stimulates society, enlivens the nation and fosters national consciousness in Sri Lanka. The festival is celebrated mainly by the Buddhists and the Hindus. Now Christians too participate in New Year celebrations as this highlights the authentic customs.

Intricate preparations with the preparation of very traditional Avurudu treats as kavun, kokis, mun kevun and the kiribath or milk rice signifies the very essence of Avurudu in terms of food which will be one of the many events that will be highlighted on this day.

‘A real vacation’ at Cinnamon Lakeside
