Jungle Beat in Jaffna

Hundreds of Sri Lankan and international folk artistes have come under the banner ‘Jaffna Music Festival’ to show their talents last week in Jaffna.

Twenty four folk music and cultural troupes from villagers across Sri Lanka and five international folk groups from India, Nepal, Palestine, South Africa and Norway are seen in action at this folk art festival, organized by ‘Concerts Norway’, Sewalanka Foundation and Aru Sri Theatre of Jaffna.

The festival unfolds in the setting of a folk- village camp, where different artistes, both Sri Lankan and international held simultaneous performances from Friday to Sunday night, followed by a main stage performances from 4.00pm onwards.

Jaffna Music Festival is the sister event of the biennial Galle Music Festival started in year 2009.
