SLIIT teams up with NIE to conduct ICT workshop for teachers

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and The National Institute of Education (NIE) jointly conducted a seven day workshop for teachers who are teaching the recently introduced ICT A/L subject in schools.

The workshop was organized by the NIE and took place at the NIE in Maharagama. Over 200 teachers from all over the island participated in this workshop and commended both the SLIIT and the NIE for this initiative. A resource website which includes the contents of the workshop, additional resource material, videos, and discussion forums have also been made available to the ICT teachers. This ensures that they have the opportunity to further develop their ICT knowledge and skills which can be utilised at their respective schools.

As a component of the institute’s CSR initiatives, SLIIT conducts regular workshops at schools to improve A/L students' ICT knowledge and gear them to pursue ICT-related subjects, and is planning to conduct several workshops island-wide for students who are preparing for the new ICT A/L subject.
