Any Is It True?
Clueless on sports

A top bank official recently attended a meeting in England to discus ways and means to hold a top competition in Sri Lanka in the year 2018. This official had been stumped by the questions posed to him as he had no clue to the sporty questions leveled at him because he is said to be a top banking official and has nothing to with sports least of all to answer questions posed to him on sports.

All Colombo affair

The Oval Office announced two new selectors and both of them are from a leading educational institution in Colombo.

Now fears abound that in future too people will be appointed from this institution and whether all appointments at this office will be an ‘all Colombo educational institution’ in future.

Land left to rot

How situations change with time. After the Sri Lanka team won the World Cup in 1996, the heroes were given lands as gifts for the honour and glory they brought to the country. However these lands have not been touched because they have been given in marshy areas in the suburbs of Colombo and will take a fortune to make habitable. It is said that a certain big shot in the cricketing world has now changed his spots and the people in command do not want to help in him any way and so the land that has been gifted to him is simply left to rot.

Smart dressing room

A certain ground in the outstations that is being readied for the fast approaching World Cup has its dressing rooms plastered with pictures of leading personalities. No one has heard of a dressing room being decorated like this and they are beginning to wonder why? However it is a well know fact that certain leading government offices have pictures of certain big wigs hanging on their walls. Are they trying to emulate these offices?

No sponsor

A leading cricket tournament is now all ready to pad up and the powers that be have agreed to find sponsors to ten of the eleven teams that will be in the fray. However the powers that be are not keen to find a sponsor for this team as they have spoken against them and if they are keen to participate in the event they should find their own sponsors. This particular team is said to be from the South.

15 matches in one venue

A twenty/20 cricket tournament is to be held for the fairer sex and 15 of these matches are scheduled to be played in one ground while two are to be played at a separate venue. The reason for this is because the person who is organizing this competition is keen to have more matches at his own venue rather than at any other venue.

Hockey presents

Recently a hockey team visited Malaysia. The reason to make this tour was listed as a provincial team to play abroad mainly to gain experience. Each player was asked to pocket out Rs. 90,000 and more for the tour. It is reported that over 50 players had embarked on this tour. Now the person who was responsible for this tour is going around giving presents to those who have been asked to inquire into this tour in order to keep the issue quiet.

Short man at it again

The Citadel of was buzzing on Friday. The short teacher who turned the building up side down at one juncture and then faced expulsion, now has gone to meet the hospital man who ran the show one time. The men in the Citadel are now wondering as to what this opportunist is up to at this juncture and why did the hospital man even entertain such a low profile character.
