Umesh and Ruvindu put Marians on top

A ton by Umesh Karunaratne and a half ton by Ruvindu Gunasekera put Chilaw Marians on top against Air Force when play stopped on day two in their Under 23 Division One cricket encounter at Rifle Green.
Umesh made a 142 ball knock of 113 with 13 boundaries and four sixes while Ruvindu hit a 54. The pair put on a fourth wicket stand of 109 runs with supporting knocks of 72 by Sanatha Silva and all rounder Geeth Alwis, which helped the Marians to amass a mammoth 442.

Prasad Dias and Chamindu Ishanka guided CCC with a massive 174 runs stand for the fifth wicket enabling to end their innings on a massive 441 for 8 before declaring against Seeduwa/Raddoluwa CC at the FTZ ground in Katunayake.

Tons by Madawa Warnapura who made 122 with ten boundaries and Denuwan Fernando making an unbeaten 114 inclusive of 15 boundaries and a six saw Bloomfield resuming from their overnight score of 291 for 9 make 341 against BRC on the second day at the BRC ground. BRC in their turn were bowled out for 195.

Dinidu slams career best 175
Dinidu Jayatileke slammed a career best 175 inclusive of 25 boundaries and a six helping Tamil Union make a formidable 349 against Moratuwa SC at the P. Sara Stadium. Moratuwa SC who were bowled out for 233 in the first inning batting the second time were 86 for 6 still needing 30 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
