Vinuri wins at rowing

Vinuri Wickremasekera of Musaeus College won the Novices Sculling event conducted by the Colombo Rowing Club. Musaeus College has been in the forefront of rowing for over a decade. It has produced skilled oarswomen especially in the single sculls event.

To name a few are the Gunawardene sisters, Minoli and Mithila, Uvini Atapattu, Sachitra Jayathilake and the oarswoman of the year for 2008, 2009, Swarnamali Wijesinghe.

The Single sculls event requires a perfect technique to balance the rowing boat and at the recently concluded Inaugural Regatta conducted by the Colombo Rowing Club, Swarnamali Wijesinghe and Vinuri Wickremasekera showed their skills by winning both the sculling events.
