Munchee claims world-first with new biscuit

Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, which celebrates 40 years in the business this year, on Wednesday claimed a world-first with a new cream sandwich savoury biscuit saying all over there is a shift from sweet products to ‘healthier ones’.

In a press release, Theja Peiris, Senior Brand Manager, Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL), said the new biscuit has a novel taste, ‘even for us at CBL’. She said the traditional puff biscuit lover did not have a suitable alternative, and ,“We saw a savoury cream puff as the solution.

The distinctive Sri Lanka curry flavour is also unique, and very well prepared for the Asian palate”. The Munchee Curry Puff, which is Halal and SLS certified, was introduced to an international audience at the Hikkaduwa Beach Festival two weeks ago..
