Visakha win by a whisker; Ananda has it easily
View(s):Visakha Vidyalaya managed only to nose ahead Bishops College by only one-point (118-117) while Ananda College, however, recorded a convincing win swimming for 176-points in the last weekend’s Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union conducted Novices Swimming Meeting that finished at the Sugathadasa Swimming Complex.
Visakhians and Bishopians fought tooth and nail in the three-day meet, before Visakha scraped through their rivals. Coincidentally, for the third and fourth places too, Negombo based St. Peter’s and Nugegoda Anula Vidyalaya had the tightest of battles, before St. Peter’s prevailed.
On the other hand, Ananda College powered their way to become champions scoring 176. Placed far behind them were the Thomians, though managing to cross the 100-point mark. Visakhians have enjoyed a consistent swim in the waters this season, often finishing in Top 5 or 10.
