Lyceum International School, Wattala and Walala A. Ratnayake Central College claimed the Boy’s and Girls’ championships respectively at the Ritzbury sponsored 90th Sir John Tarbat Schools Senior Athletic Meet concluded at Diyagama.This championship was conducted by the
Sri Lanka School Athletics Association and over 6000 athletes from  638 schools took part during the four-day event.

Lyceum Wattala, who obtained 128 points, clinched the Boy’s championship while St. Peter’s College, Colombo, with 62 points, emerged runners-up. The Girl’s championship was claimed by were Walala A. Ratnayaka Central College, who accumulated 161 points. Lyceum International, Wattala, with 119 points, became the runners-up.

Isuru Kaushalaya  of Ananda Shasthralaya, Matugama and H.M.N. Madhushani of Nannapuruwa Vidyalaya were awarded the Best Male and Female Athletes respectively of the 2022 edition of the Sir John Tarbat School Senior Athletic Meet.

Sri Lanka School Athletics Association confirmed that 12 new records have been established at this year’s championship.

The award presentation ceremony was held under the patronage of Nilupul de Silva, the General Manager, Marketing of CBL Foods International and Dr. Kusala Fernando, the President of Sri Lanka School Athletics Association.

  •    Shot Putt U-18: W. Jayavi Ranhinda (Royal College, Pandura – 17.23m)

  •    400M U-20: Isuru Kaushalya (Ananda Shastralaya, Matugama – 46.96sec)

  •    Triple Jump U-16: Oshini Kodikara
