New Generation Awards 2022: Nominations open till September 30

The New Generation Awards 2022 media launch was held at the Maharagama National Youth Service Council on September 22.
It was organised by the Women in Management New Generation Chapter and the Sri Lanka National Youth Services Council.
This year’s panel of seven judges, chaired by Prof. Ravi Dissanayake, the Head of the Marketing Management Department at the University of Kelaniya, are from a diverse range of fields.
This includes Rashitha Delapola, the Director of Technical & Vocational Training at the National Youth Service Council and Sandra de Zoysa, the Group Chief Customer Officer of Dialog Axiata Plc.
Dr. Nirmal de Silva, an entrepreneur and an associate professor in Business Management, Zahara Ansary, Country Manager of CIMA Sri Lanka, as well as Lihini Fernando, a council member of the Moratuwa Municipal Council, and Dr. Thilina Wanigasekera, a Health Ministry Director, are also in the panel of judges.
The awards would be provided in 42 categories, including school, university, self-employment, private sector, public sector, media, sports and even politics, wherever youth were involved, the school awards include awards for teachers as well.
The process of choosing the winners includes an intelligence test, where even the social media of the applicants would be evaluated and an interview, where various questions would be asked by the panel of judges.
The objective of the awards is to connect and collect youth of the country and to train leaders while connecting Sri Lankan youth to job opportunities outside the country and providing developed youth with leadership opportunities, without gender bias.
The awards would protect consistency, transparency and accountability, to create a transparent story of youth who have potential to create an impact on the next generation.
Nominations are open until September 30, while the Third New Generation Awards 2022 would be held on October 31 at Galadari Hotel.
