Old Royalist displayed top quality golf with very good preparations which helped them regain the Bradby Golf 2022 title that was worked off at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) a day before their Kandy leg of the Bradby Shield. This encounter was played for G.C. Wickremasinghe Trophy. Somanath Fernando led the Old Royalist.

This board event between the two esteemed institutions was an initiative of former Trinity Rugby Lion (1985) Bimal Fernando and Ravana Wijeratne. The initial two years — 2016 and 2017 — Trinity won while in the following two years — 2018 and 2019 — Royal took home the title. In 2020 Trinity regained and held on till 2021. The series at present is led by Trinity, who had won the title four times while with this year’s win, Royal claims the title for the third time.
