Lyceum Panadura emerge victorious against Auckland XI

In the list of the brilliant sportsmanship and victories of Lyceum Cricket team, recently, Lyceum International School, Panadura played a cricket encounter against the North Harbour, Auckland XI cricket team from New Zealand, and gained the Shield of Victory, also creating a benchmark in Lyceum’s cricket history.

The match took place at the CCC ground at Maitland Place where Lyceum, Panadura recorded a convincing 3-wicket win against North Habour Aukland XI in a 50-over game. The North Harbour team won the toss, and elected to bat. They were bowled out for 165 runs in 36.5 overs.

Lyceum, Panadura maintained their pace towards victory, winning the match after reaching 166 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 29.5 overs.

Lyceum, Panadura trumped by the exceptional batting skills of Akmal Fazly, who was named the player of the match, after his powerful knock of 78 runs off 72 balls. Following him was Vishan Joseph, who scored 32 runs off 39 balls and Ojas Grower, who scored 30 runs after facing 42 balls.

Earlier Rusiru Fernando set the tone for a possible win after capturing four scalps, conceding 33 runs and bowling 7.5 overs. In addition, Nishal Thabawita grabbed three wickets conceding 20 runs six overs, while Bisanda Silva took two for 27 runs in eight overs.
