Many of these partnerships areRecognition for Prior learning (RPL) arrangements, where Deakin University’s pathway programmes allow Sri Lankan students to commence their degree via a Deakin partner institute in Sri Lanka, and consequently transfer to a Deakin campus in Australia, to complete their degree.
The credit system of RPL, is the recognition of previous study, that can reduce the number of units needed to study at Deakin, thereby allowing students to complete their degree in Australia, without the need to undertake the full duration of the degree in Australia. The amount of recognition granted depends on the studies undertaken as part of diploma studies in Sri Lanka, and may vary based on the programme, the majors chosen and professional recognition requirements. A formal determination of RPL is completed upon application to Deakin.
Why is a transfer option a good idea?
