The School of Postgraduate Studies & Research (SPSR) is the new wing that joined Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Sri Lanka to foster research and postgraduate education in the university and is headed by award winning academic, Prof. (Eng.) Being a research-based university we’re the only non-state university in Sri Lanka that conducts world class research with world renowned universities. Our panel of lecturers are very well versed in research and engage in Problem Based Learning. This helps in enhancing the student’s engagement in research and innovation. SLTC housed more than 5 European Commission funded research projects and many other externally sponsored grants. SLTC is the first non-state university to embark on a Postdoc programme. Currently, the university has attracted more than 3 international postdocs to conduct research at its facility.

You will be taught via lectures, tutorials, seminars, activity-based learning, group discussions, panel sessions, inverted classroom learning etc. Delivery will be 100% online to accommodate students from different locations and situations. To cater for the wide-ranging content of our courses and the varied learning preferences of our students, we offer a range of assessment methods on each programme. Discussion places may be conducted in Colombo Trace premises as required.
MSc in Wireless Communications – LJMU, UK
This MSc programme in Wireless Communications serves the growing and demanding needs of this very specialized and growing industry at home and abroad. This programme builds on the internationally recognised research strengths of the Center for Telecommunication Research (CTR) @ SLTC. This group has earned an international reputation of pioneering research in a number of key fundamental and experimental work areas, including wireless communication for underwater wireless, 6G, coding theory, advanced non-orthogonal multiple access technologies, radio frequency energy harvesting technologies.
MSc Embedded Systems and IC Design – LJMU, UK
This MSc programme covers the advanced concepts of building embedded systems using high-end microchips, designing ICs with custom embedded system designs, and testing the built systems with industry standard tools. The focus on the IC design concepts makes this programme a unique programme in Sri Lanka. Further, our in-house experts in nanoelectronics deliver advanced knowledge on state-of-the-art CMOS devices and systems, fabrication and testing of microelectronic devices and in the latest consumer electronic products. The programme is also associated with the national research lab for embedded systems in Madurai.
