This has been initiated with the patronage by the Plantations Minster  Ramesh Pathirana and Education Secretary Kapila Perera, with the participation of Brandix Pvt. Ltd. Director S. Iswaran and Lawrence Vincent.

This programme has been in place for the past year, and seminars have been conducted in different areas. Around 200 schools in the province were covered. This programme has been conducted by the Education Ministry, along with private companies such as Brandix Pvt. Ltd..

The training sessions covered the syllabuses from  grade three to grade eight. An application titled ‘Read to me’ was also developed for the training in smart class rooms.

The Education Ministry plans to extend the programme island wide due to its popularity at present. It also hopes to promote the ‘Read to me’ programme and extend training for this programme as well, a spokesperson for the ‘Right to Read’ institution said.
