Gateway Kandy creates history
Trinity and Gateway basketball captains with their heads of institutions
Gateway College, Kandy will create history when they conduct a quadrangular tournament in football, netball and basketball among Trinity College, Hillwood College, St. Sylvester’s College and Gateway College to mark their 20 years operation in the Central Hills which will be the first in the region.
These events will be worked off on February 3 at Gateway Courts and followed with the events shifting to Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekelle on February 6. This event will be an annual Quadrangular Encounter with the 20th anniversary celebrations of Gateway College, Kandy.
Proceedings will commence with the Invitation basketball encounter between the hosts and Hillwood College for the girls. The second match will be between Gateway College, Kandy and St. Sylvester’s College playing for the Boys event at the Gateway courts on February 3. They will play for, Asoka Herath-Ranil Meetiyagoda Challenge Trophy.
Three days later on February 6 proceedings will be at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekelle where Gateway will play Hillwood in netball played for Rohini Alles-Somakumari Challenge Trophy. After the netball event Trinity and Gateway will battle it out in the football encounter. This will be payed for R.I.T. Alles-Rev Ireland Jones Challenge Trophy.
