A large number of doctors gathered at a medical camp recently, to offer free services to hundreds of people from the rural Yatigalpotta village in Galewela, Matale recently.

The health camp marked the end of “Wassana Diyawara”, a six month community welfare project conducted by the Colombo Medical Faculty’s Buddhist Association.

The project provided infrastructure facilities to the Galewela/Yatigalpotta junior school. Aside from improving infrastructure facilities, medical students also conducted education and spiritual programmes for the village children.

General physicians, surgeons, dental surgeons, eye specialists and gynecologists were present at the medical camp, which also had laboratory facilities.
