The CMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club successfully conducted the 15th consecutive batch of speech crafters sponsored by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. (CMA). Twenty one final year students attended the programme over a period of 13 weeks. Since the first Speech Craft programme was conducted in 2015,fifteen speech craft programmes have been conducted by CMA Sri Lankaand 435 students have benefited by attending this programme. Many participants have gained much confidence and developed their communication skills, empowered themselves with soft-skills and climbed the corporate ladder in their career path.

Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala together with Council Members of CMA have continued to display their commitment to enrich and enhance the knowledge and soft skill development of its’ members, passed finalists and final year students enabling them to develop their leadership skills and achieve career progression in the corporate world.

This speech craft batch in particular, showed great commitment, dedication and talent with a speech crafter performing prepared speech under project 4 ‘Your Body Speaks’ on the topic ‘Time To Express’ which was applauded by the other speech crafters in the batch and also highly commended by the Toastmaster Facilitators confirming that she was the first speech crafter to attempt Project level 4 prepared speech in all the speech crafters from the inception.At the Final Award Ceremony meeting she delivered an outstanding Project Level 3 speech titled ‘Developing Personality’. Three other excellent speeches at Project level 2 were delivered creating much interest and impression on the audience together with table topic speeches. The Final Award Ceremony of the 15th batch was successfully concluded at the CMA Auditorium on Saturday, 18th January 2020.The Chief Guest   Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala expressed his congratulations to the participants for their amazing performance and he stressed the importance of Communication and IT skills which enable CMA Sri Lanka Professional Accountants to be a successful team member and to climb to the top of the corporate ladder as CFO, CEO, Managing Director or Chairman of a Company. The certificates were presented by Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, CMA ConsultantMr. Kosala Dissanayake, Past President CMA Sri Lanka Toastmaster Club Mr. Achala Perera and VP Education CMA Sri Lanka Mr. Mayuran Ramanathan. The Awards Ceremony was conducted by the Course Director Toast Master Dian Abeyewardene. The awards ceremony was followed by an entertainment item performed by the speech crafters of Batch 15.

The next batch of the speech craft programme will commence on 15th February 2020 for members, passed finalists and strategic and apex level students of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants following the footsteps of the successful batches of participants.
