Revitalising higher education for sustainable development

The Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) International Conference 2019 is to be held on December 9 and 10 in Hotel Galadari, Colombo.

It is organised by the University of Kelaniya, a member of ASAIHL community.

ASAIHL is a non-governmental organisation which was formed in 1956. The organisation consists of 22 member states and 245 member institutes from Europe, Oceania, Australia and Asia. The main purpose of this organisation is to assist member institutions to strengthen themselves through mutual assistance and to achieve international excellence in teaching, research and public service.

ASAIHL always encourages innovative research and arranges platforms for new knowledge to be presented.

Member institutions organise bi-annual international conference, to meet the objectives of the association.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Revitalising Higher Education for Sustainable Development.”

The conference will be a platform for educators, researchers and scientists from local and foreign universities and related academic institutions, to interact.

“We are inviting our member institutions and other interested academics and practitioners to participate in this international conference, to share knowledge on reshaping higher education for sustainable development,” a Kelaniya University spokesperson said.
