Sri Lanka’s Thehan Wijemanne who put up a spirited performance in the early stages of the ITF Junior Circuit Week 4 tennis tournament  bowed out of contention losing to eighth seeded Hyeoung Jin Kim of Korea in the quarter-final encounter played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday morning. Thehan Wijemanne cruised through to the quarter-finals with a convincing two sets to nil win over fourth seeded player Leroy Yong of Malaysia on Friday.

Meanwhile after the completion of the quarter-finals, the semi final encounters of the two categories were played.

In the girls semi-finals the fifth and seventh seeded players Ya Chi Hsu and Yi Chin Wu both of Chinese Taipei qualified to the final. In the boys semi-final fifth and eight seeded players – Nauvaldo Jati Agatra of Indonesia and Uddayvir Singh of India entered the final. The two finals will be worked-off this morning.
