Funeral of Gajadeera tomorrow
View(s):The cremation of former minister and Matara District UPFA parliamentarian Chandrasiri Gajadeera will take place at Uyanwatta at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
He passed away on Friday at the age of 73.
An attorney-at-law by profession, Mr Gajadeera represented the Sri Lanka Communist Party in Parliament and spent over two decades in politics. He served as Deputy Minister of Vocational Training from 2000 to 2001 and as the Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction, Eastern Province Education and Irrigation Development and Non Cabinet Minister of Home Affairs from 2007 to 2010.
Mr Gajadeera also served as the Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms from 2010 to 2015.
His remains are lying at No. 48/1, Paramulla, Matara.
