Dineshkanthan, Anika emerge Mixed Doubles champion

Third seeded pair Dineshkanthan Thangarajah and Anika Seneviratne emerged the Mixed Doubles champion of the 104th National Tennis Championship played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

The pair coasted to a convincing two sets to nil win against unseeded pair Heera Ashiq and Janali Manamperi. In the process Anika bagged her second title having earlier won the Women’s doubles with her sister Alana. For Dineshkanthan it was his first title of the ongoing nationals.

Meanwhile in the four quarter finals of the Boys Under-16 singles which were played concurrently, top seeded Thehan Wijemanne along with second seeded Chathurya Nilaweera, Dilvan Herath and Zaidh Zihar qualifying for the semi-finals.

The Boys Under-16 semi finals will be worked off today with the line up being Thehan Wijemanne vs Dilvan Herath abnd Chathurya Nilaweera vs Zaidh Zihar.
