Learning through cultural experiences…

At ANC-MMI Pre Schools, our programme objective is to develop characteristics in a child that will enable her to thrive in the future cosmopolitan world. That includes developing a child into a divergent thinker who can adapt and assimilate into cultural diversity, an independent thinker who has love for learning and an individual who has good characteristics and embraces social grace and courtesy, fulfilling the need of a holistic education. Our philosophy is that all children want to learn. With the freedom to investigate the world around them, they will become active learners.

We also understand that each child is unique and develops at his/her own pace through development stages and different learning styles. Keeping that in mind MMI has developed and implemented many programmes in the last few decades. Our in-house developed programmes consists of:

Passport to the World

MMI’s Passport is your child’s ticket to an exciting global adventure. The programme inspires a love and understanding of the world as your child learns about a country’s geography, people, history and culture in a fun and memorable way. Children will enjoy new songs, learn new crafts, listen to folktales, explore national flowers and animal and even learn new language!

Speak to be heard!

Nothing excites children than being able to express themselves openly, without fear. The experiences that children go through in their early years can greatly affect the development of their creativity. Children gain a sense of achievement and feel good about themselves when they are able to create something using their own emotions and experiences. The creative and engaging programme,  develop in children confidence and stretches their imagination and provide them the opportunity to articulate and express themselves creatively.

News Hour

The programme prepares the child to grow and excel in an increasingly cosmopolitan environment and inter-cultural world. The planned hands-on activities based on real events provide children with the platform to understand his world and appreciates the dynamic of world happenings.

Elaborating further on the Passport to the world programme, This term our schools have been busy filling in the little leaners minds on the continent Asia. Each week they learn about different countries in Asia as part of the Passport to the world curriculum.

Our Diploma students who have just completed their cultural subjects module prepared and presented Singapore to our little learners at MMI, Kotte. It was a memorable and lovely learning experience for the Diploma students who prepared and presented their cultural day to the young audience who all had a fulfilling cultural experience of listening to the National Anthem, learning the national symbols, experiencing Singaporean traditions, food, music, art and crafts, etc.

The Cultural experience was well received by our young audience, who actively participated and thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience in a fun way! This event not only impacted the little minds we enriched but also a memorable experience for our Diploma students graduating soon as MMI qualified teachers.
