S. Thomas’ having virtually dominated proceedings against Wesley, had to be satisfied with a first innings win as Shenal Dangalla and Kavindana Perera who both cracked half tons denied the sea side boys victory in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.

S. Thomas’ resuming from their overnight score of 46 for 0, made 206 for 3 declared on the back of a fine century from skipper Sithara Hapuhinna who made an unbeaten 129.

Wesley in pursuit of a challenging target of 268 runs was in a bad position of 98 for 4 at one stage but Shenal and Kavindana came to the rescue for Wesley. Left-arm spinner Dellon Peiris who ended with impressive figures of 7 for 26 bagged three scalps in the second innings to end with a match bag of ten wickets.
