10 Master’s Scholarships to Korea for Govt officers
View(s):In line with its long established tradition of assisting in capacity building of Sri Lanka Government officers, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sri Lanka, will offer all inclusive Scholarships for Master’s Degree programmes to 10 selected government officials.
The Degree programmes will be conducted at reputed Universities in the Republic of Korea in the fields of Governance, Rural Development, Health & Technology and Environment & Energy, the embassy said in a press release.
Through this Scholarship programme, the 10 officers will gain enhanced knowledge and experience, specifically, in Agricultural Production, Global ICT Policy, Community Development, Agricultural Economics, Gender Equality Leadership, Water Resources Management, Atmospheric Environment, and Regulation Management for Economic Development.
Since the first KOICA Scholarship was offered in 2005, 84 Sri Lanka government officers have received Master’s Degrees up to date, the release added.
It is expected that, once they complete the programme and return to Sri Lanka, they will share their experience and knowledge gained in Korea, with their colleagues and organisations in the respective fields, the release added.
Since 1991, KOICA has cooperated with the Sri Lanka Government to implement various Development Cooperation programmes, with the view to enhance the living standards of Sri Lanka’s people.
One of their important means of cooperation has been providing capacity building programmes to nurture key future leaders in Sri Lanka, who can contribute to the Socio-Economic Development of their country.
