Pinsara of Sussex College Ampara brings glory to his motherland

Pinsara Sadaham Hettiarachchi of Sussex College Ampara who represented Sri Lanka at the 54th Milo/PRAM Malaysian Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship has brought glory to his motherland and the Sussex College Network by winning a Bronze Medal in the Butterfly Relay 50m event. The Swimming Championship was held in Malaysia from March 15 to March 18, 2018.

Swimmers from 24 Countries Participated in the Championship and Sri Lankan Team consisted of 98 Swimmers. Sri Lanka won 12 Medals, Two 2nd Places and Ten 3rd Places. Pinsara was the youngest to represent Sri Lankan Team.

Under the guidance of Chairman/ Founder/ CEO of Sussex College Network and Sussex Group, K.A.S Sunil Jayatissa, Sussex College Network provided sole sponsorship for Pinsara to take part in the International Championship. Pinsara is been looked after in a big way by the Sussex College Network both in his academic and sports fields. As a mark of appreciation this budding swimmer was given a scholarship to transfer into any school in the network and as a result Pinsara now studies at Sussex College, Nugegoda under the watchful eyes of Chamara Waduge.

Sussex College Network with 20 Colleges spread across Sri Lanka which offers special privileges to all students who are achievers in any kind of Sport including Athletics, Swimming, Gymnastic, Netball, and Volley ball, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess and Karate. According to the Chairman of Sussex College K.A.S Sunil Jayatissa who has shown special attention to students who are gifted in sports, Sussex College continuously has sponsored the growth of the students who have outstanding performance in Sports. According to Jayathissa, they are the assets and strength of our nation.
