Underprivileged children in remote primary schools in the tourist zones of Pasikuda, Bentota, Sigiriya and Dambulla were presented with over 1,000 schoolbags containing schoolbooks, stationery and sweetmeats to encourage them to improve in their studies. Travel Trends Leisure (TTL) of Sri Lanka along with its Chinese partner Diyu Travel implemented this project titled “Grow”, after watching news of people severely effected by floods in May 2017.

The Best Practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the Tourism Industry was held on Saturday, March 31, at which the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the Pasikuda Calm Hotel, at the request of the organizers, presented 20 needy children of Sri Krishna Vidyalaya, Karunkalichcholai, Valaichchenai. They pledged to assist the children in the future too.

Travel Trends Leisure Founder Lahiru Weerawardana said, “We will help more Sri Lankan kids within our capability and profession, performing our CSR as an organization. Our team will keep promoting Pasikuda to Chinese customers, following the path of SLTDA and do more for the kids living there, as we are the few agencies who have successfully sent groups to the East coast. TTL has named this project “Grow”, aiming to see more kids growing up with more care and love. As one of the contributors to Sri Lanka’s sustainable tourism, it also welcomes more tourists and agencies join this project and contribute towards Sri Lanka society.
