Eastern Uni., UNESCO set up Gender Equality Education Unit at B’caloa Public Library

The Eastern University (EU) with assistance from the UN Educational Scientific & Cultural Organization, supported the establishment of a Gender Equality Education Unit at the Batticaloa Public Library (BPL), Reference Section.

Women’s Health, Human Rights, Sri Lanka State of Human Rights, Enhancing Gender Responsive Mediation and several other related publications are available in the Gender Section, for users of the BPL. EU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof T. Jeyasingam and Deputy VC Dr K.E. Karunakaran handed over copies of the publications to Batticaloa Municipal Commissioner (MC) N. Manivannan, Deputy MC N. Thananjeyan and Librarian Kamala.

UNESCO Project Coordinator Barathy Kenady, Sub Project Coordinators Dr G. Kenady, Dr Mathy Venthan, Dr T. Prabakaran and T. Ramanan, EU Deans Dr M. Vinoba, Dr T. Roshana Ragal and EU Sub Librarian S.Jeyarai graced the occasion.
