Thirty school Principals from schools islandwide will be sent to Singapore and Malaysia for foreign training. They will be the first batch to receive foreign training this year, while 226 principals islandwide received overseas training last year, the Education Ministry said.

Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said the aim is to improve planning, management, introduce new teaching methods and technologies into the present school system.

He added that exposure to international experts will boost leadership skills of principals, while the trained principals’ knowledge will be utilised to modify and enhance the present school system.
