Malith Senanayake, a promising Tennis player
View(s):Malith Senanayake, a 16-year-old student of St. Thomas’ College Matale is a promising young tennis player who has represented his school at tennis with distinction. He represented the school at Inter-Schools level as well as National Schools Tennis competitions and also at Ranking Tennis Tournaments conducted by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA).

Malith won the Under-15 Tennis Singles title at the invitational Division ‘B’ Junior Tennis Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) Malabe in 2017. He was also the first Matale Thomian to finish as the runner-up of the Under-18 Boys Singles event at the All-Island Ranking Tennis Tournament conducted by SLTA together with Garden Tennis Club Kandy in 2016.
Malith became the first player from a Matale school to compete in the ITF Junior Circuit Week 2 contest which was conducted by ITF in Colombo. He was also adjudged as the best player of the THORA Tennis League Matale in 2017. Malith is coached by Harsha Chandrasiri, an ITF Level 1 qualified Coach, who is also the coordinator of tennis for SLTA in Matale.
Malith was recently honoured with an award for commendable performance at the annual get together and award ceremony of the THORA Tennis Academy, Matale held at Hotel Sesatha.
