St. Therese House emerged overall champions with 447 points at the annual Inter-House Sports Meet of Our Lady of Victory (OLV) Convent, Moratuwa. The annual Sports Meet was held on February 3 at St. Sebastian’s College ground with a large gathering of students, staff members, parents and former students of OLV.
The meet was closely contested by the four Houses namely St. Therese, St. Maria Goretti, St. Bernadette and St. Lucy. St. Therese House emerged overall champions with 447 points and was closely followed by St. Maria Goretti House, last year’s champs.

The Best Athlete Award and the Best Performer Award for the year were presented to Nethmi Fernando of St. Maria Goretti House. The Oriental Dance Troupe and the Senior Western Band presented colourful displays. The oriental dance troupe displayed a fusion dance of Kandyan, Bharatha, and Kathack styles to bring out the theme of this year’s Independence celebration ‘One Nation’. The Drill Display a unique presentation every year was appreciated by many.

The Chief Guest of the event was Pramesha Fernando, former Deputy Games Captain of the school and an Assistant Manager of David Pieris Motor Company. The meet was organised by the four house mistresses and staff members under the direction of the Principal Rev. Sr. Chamila Ann Fernando and the Prefect of Games and Vice Principal, Sandya Wijeweera. – Pix by M.D. Nissanka
