The right and left arm spin combination of skipper Savindu Peiris and Kaumal Nanayakkara helped Prince of Wales coast to an innings and 11 runs win over St Peter’s in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Moratuwa yesterday.

The pair ended with match bag of eight wickets each as they wrecked the Peterites batting in the two innings.

In addition the Cambrians batsman frustrated the Peterite bowlers spearheaded by Sri Lanka youth player Vishwa Chathuranga who made a quick fire 96 ball knock of 125 that included 21 boundaries and three sixes. Nalanda too coasted to an innings and five runs win against Dharmapala Pannipitiya which ended at Campbell Place

There were four other outright wins recorded on the second day before the tea break with Maliyadeva overcoming Zahira by five wickets at Maradana, Lyceum International School Wattala recording a comfortable innings and 55 runs win over Vijitha Central Dickwella at Dickwella, Mahinda Rajapakse NS Homagama defeating Malabe Boys School and Lyceum International School Nugegoda overcoming Vipulananda MV Dematagoda.
