St. Xavier’s Marawila, Rajasinghe MMV Ruwanwella, Wijeyaba National School Hungama in 3 finals
St. Xavier’s MV Marawila, Rajasinghe MMV Ruwanwella and Wijeyaba National School (NS) Hungama have qualified for 3 finals of the DSI Super Sports Schools Volleyball (VB) Tournament.
The finals will take place on Oct.23-24 at the National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium, Maharagama.
The competition is sponsored by D. Samson & Sons Co.
Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
The competitions are conducted by the Sri Lanka VB Federation and the Schools VB Association.
The tournament was conducted in 4 age groups. They are: Under (U)-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19, Girls and Boys.
Over 2,000 teams islandwide participated in the tournament. The competition was inaugurated in 1999 with only 198 teams. This is the main Schools VB tournament today.
St. Xavier’s reached the finals of the Boys’ U-13, U-15 and U-17.
Rajasinghe MMV reached the finals of the Boys’ U-13, U-15 and U-19.
Wijeyaba NS reached the finals of the Boys’ U-17, Girls’ U-15 and U-19.
