Two six wicket hauls by M. Abilash (6 for 32) and a match bag of eight wickets by K. Kapilraj (6 for 39 and 2 for 31) paved the way for St. John’s to record a thrilling ten runs win over fancied Royal College Colombo in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at St. John’s ground in Jaffna.

Royal dominating proceedings on day one went on to take a first inning lead but the Johnians came back on day two as they put in a better batting performance followed by a fine bowling effort to turn the game topsy turvy.

Royal set a simple run chase of 118 runs put in a pathetic batting performance as the Colombo lads out for a low score of 107 runs in their second assay.
