Hatton National Bank ‘A’ and Sampath Bank emerged winners in the rain-curtailed curtain raisers of the 25th Singer MCA Premier League Tournament 2018 played yesterday at the Colts and FTZ Grounds, Katunayake respectively.
Teejay Lanka PLC were unlucky to not to register a win as they were 78 for 3 in 9.5 overs after given a revised target of 82 to win in 20 overs against Hayleys PLC ‘A’ at De Soyza Stadium, Moratuwa.
The weekend’s highest score was posted by Sampath Bank with Avishka Fernando (65) and Romesh Buddhika (59) leading the way. With rain interrupting play HNB ‘A’ and Sampath Bank scored their win on D/L method.
