Commissioner of Exams, P.M.N.J. Pushpakumara says he will take tough measures against Advanced Level candidates who, on the last day of their exam, take to the streets and misbehhave.

Mr Pushpakumara said that, in previous years, there have been incidents where A/L candidates in particular, have jumped into girls’ schools and caused problems, and also engaged in fights with rival schoolchildren, while some have also engaged in vandalism within examination centers.

“This time we will be very strict with those who engage in such activities and will not release the results of such students,” he said.
To ensure that potential troublemakers get to their homes soon after the exams are over, special police officers will be deployed in each area, to ensure there is no trouble. - DW
