Community Development Project by Colombo University
View(s):The Community Development Project initiated by the University of Colombo, Faculty of Management will be conducted this year by the 1st-years of the Faculty of 420 students. The students will contribute towards the project in teams, to encourage students identify and address timely and relevant social issues within different communities for the betterment of society.
In the past, the project focused on renovating and constructing buildings for schools, elders’ homes, children’s homes and orphanages, and also, houses were built for people. This year, 21 teams will take part in this programme which will help students develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes through interaction with different stakeholders, as a means to support and uplift the lives of identified groups within society through students’ teamwork. - SI
