Nano degrees from SL’s Nano Institute
View(s):Sri Lanka’s path-breaking Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology Pvt Ltd has been recognized as a degree-awarding institution by the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways.
According to a gazette notification issued on Wednesday, the institute can offer degree courses in Master of Philosophy in Nano and Advanced Technology leading to the MPhil (Nano and Advanced Technology) degree.
The gazette said the institute has been given degree awarding status for the purpose of awarding the above degrees.
The minimum entry qualifications as prescribed in the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) to undertake these courses are: A Bachelor’s Honours/Special degree of SLQF Level 6, in the relevant field, or a Bachelor’s Honours degree of SLQF Level 6 in a related field and successful completion of a qualifying examination or a qualification of SLQF level 7 or above in the relevant field.
