Sri Lanka’s Thisuri Molligoda who won the Astoria Tennis Tour first tournament will be seeking to clinch her second title win when she qualified to the final of the ATTW2 tournament with a win against compatriot Kemalie Herath in the semi-final encounter played at the SLTA hard courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Thisuri cruised to an easy two sets to nil win in a one sided game. Thisuri will now meet India’s Harshita Chugh who defeated her compatriot and runner up in the previous tournament Vikram Bhasin by the same winning margin of two sets to nil. The final is scheduled to be worked off from 9.00  a.m. onwards today.

Second Round:
Kemalie Herath (Sri Lanka) beat Savini Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) 2-1 (3/6, 7/5, 6/0). Thisuri Molligoda (Sri Lanka) beat Rithika Yadav (India) 2-0 (6/0, 6/0). Harshita Chugh (India) beat Nethmi Waduge (Sri Lanka) 2-0 (6/4, 6/4). Vikram Bhasin (India) received walk over.

Semi Final:
Thisuri Molligoda (Sri Lanka) beat Kemalie Herath (Sri Lanka) 2-0 (6/0, 6/0). Harshita Chugh (India) beat Vikram Bhasin (India) 2-0 (6/0, 7/5).
