New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance ‘Grand Welcome 2017’ will come alive at the Royal Peacock Grand Ballroom of Grand Kandyan Hotel in Kandy with the popular band ‘Kurumba’ and singing sensation Clifford Richard .

Popular singer Dushyamanth Weeraman will join the fun with the band Kurumba on this special New Year’s Night along with the DJ Entertainments.

The tickets are priced at Rs 5000/- per person including the gala scrumptious buffet dinner and the load of prizes, surprises and midnight fire work display. The New Year’s Dance will kick out at 8.30pm on 31st December, 2016.

Kurumba, the hottest new entrant to the local music industry, has been stirring up quite a storm by winning the hearts of Sri Lankan music fans within an incredibly short span of time. Aptly named Kurumba, the band stands for its uniqueness and desire to be identified with its roots in Sri Lanka, even after venturing into the international arena, a goal the boys from Kurumba are working towards with utmost dedication.
A group of six young, energetic musicians led by none other than Dushyanth Weeraman and Devshan Perera, popular and creative artistes themselves, and backed by musicians with years of experience in the industry; Dilesh Wellington on bass guitar, Oshan de Silva (Tutu) on lead guitar, Chanitha Dehigahawatte on keyboards and Sahan Dissanayake on drums, is the secret behind Kurumba’s quick rise to fame in Sri Lanka.

Devshan Perera is the son of veteran musician Melantha Perera of Mirage fame and the loving husband of popular songstress Umariya.

The blend of musicians from different backgrounds and interests have undoubtedly helped Kurumba create its own unique flavour that has contributed immensely towards capturing the hearts and ear buds of fans without limiting to a selective age category.

Kurumba covers music in both English and Sinhalese, across genres that vary from pop to funk, the golden oldies to the latest chart toppers.

The band also specialises in an extensive ‘baila’ play list, a guaranteed hit at any Sri Lankan gig.
