‘Nidahase Piya- DS, a film on the Father of the Nation, D. S. Senanayake is planned to be made narrating around the true events that took place related to political and social spheres.

The film is to capture youthful years of D. S. Senanayake, his upbringing and his struggle to win independence to Sri Lanka. It will also highlight the beginning of ethnic tension that developed into major problems later and how D. S. Senanayake worked tirelessly to start colonies and revive the rich agriculture society that is part of Sri Lankan culture, tradition and economy.

Directed By Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa, the film is to be played by Lakshman Mendis, Thumindu Dodentenna, Jayalal Rohana, Janak Premalal, Susantha Chandramali, Thisuri Yuwanika, Palitha Silva, Buddadasa Vithanarachchi, Saranga Disasekara, Somasiri Alakolanga, Douglas Ranasinghe, Anura Bandara Rajaguru and Udeni Aliws, Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi, Pavithra Wickremasinghe, Priya Vithanayrachchi, G. R. Perera, Nayana Hettiarachchi, Roshan Pilapitiya, Nirosha Thalagala and Ayodhya Ratnasiri.
