Trinity College and S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia were adjudged joint winners of the TPT Challenge Trophy at the 2nd Hockey Carnival concluded at St. Peter’s College Grounds yesterday.  As the match ended in a no decision and the penalty shoot-out tied Trinity and the Thomians will share the main TPT Trophy at this edition. The Under 15 final also ended 1/1 and St. Peter’s and Trinity were declared joint winners.  The 20-30 finals for the Mario Joseph/Godwin Solomons Shield Trinity beat St. Peter’s 3-2. For Trinity Vibu Raja Mohan played an outstanding game for score the Kandy school’s 3 goals while Pasidu Fernando played a tireless game to score both goals for the Peterites.

St. Peter’s College trounced S. Thomas’s College 2-1 in the 30-40 age group to win the Old Trinitians Challenge Trophy. Godwin Solomons netted two goals for the winners while the solitary goal for the losers was scored by Pujitha Walpitagama.  The much awaited finals of the Over 40s also ended a 1-1 draw and in the penalty shoot-out Navin Marapana sounded the board to give the Thomian win and take home the shield donated by Dr. Sarath Seneviratne.  - LR
