Sri Lanka Army will lock horns with the Pakistan Army, not in a battle field but in volleyball when they host the tourists under the sports exchange programme between Pakistan and Sri Lankan Army. A 15-member Pakistan Army volleyball team arrived in Sri Lanka to play a series of friendly matches with the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. Defence Advisor of Pakistan, Col. Rajil Irshad Khan is coordinating the visit.

This series is sure to provide high quality Volleyball as Sri Lanka Army volleyball team came out with outstanding performances at the national level tournaments will match the tall and fast moving Pakistanis.The visiting Pakistan team will be in action in the SLAVF Inter Regiment Volleyball Tournament at Panagoda and afterwards at the National Youth Council courts at Maharagama from May 31 to June 3 where the semi-finals and finals would be played.

The Pakistan team was warmly received at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Vice Chairman Sri Lanka Army Volleyball Committee, along with several senior officers on arrival.  Major General Boniface Perera, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Volleyball Committee was the chief guest at the much-awaited match between the players of SLA team and the Pakistan team on Sunday. The visiting team concluded the Sri Lanka tour on June 4.
