Pop star Ed Sheeran is to undergo ear surgery in January. The singer who completed his world tour on 12th December in New Zealand revealed the cause was as a result of a jump he made off a yacht from a very high point into water.

Sheeran was on holiday in Spain at the time. He will have a graft done to repair his damaged eardrum. Meanwhile Sheeran has announced he will be taking a break after working hard for five years.

He will keep away from social media, phones and emails. Ed. Sheeran will be working however on his third album which will be out by next autumn.

She is currently having the bestselling album in the world and doing promotional work for the album ‘25’. And now Adele will be, as reported in the UK press, be performing acoustic versions of her old and new songs for the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate) at her birthday party in January.

The ‘Hello’ hitmaker will perform to a small group of close family and friends of the Duchess who is reported to be a fan of Adele.

Lady Gaga who recently recorded a song titled ‘Til It Happens To You’ for a documentary on college campus rape in the US has revealed she was a victim herself.

Gaga took seven years to come to terms with the traumatic experience. Diane Warren the celebrated song writer penned ‘Til It Happens To You’ for the documentary The Hunting Grounds.

The drum and bass quartet Rudimental has donated a school block in Malawi in Africa. The block which will house 200 children was opened by the group on December 1. Rudimental have had three big songs ‘Feel The Love’, ‘Waiting All Night’ and ‘Bloodline’ with Ed. Sheeran.

A week after replacing himself at the top of the UK singles chart, Justin Bieber shows no signs of stopping as his song ‘Love Yourself’ is at the prime spot for a second straight week.

‘Love Yourself’ had a combined sale of 114,000 copies as it consolidated its occupancy of the No:1 position beating off competing from the artist’s previous chart topping song ‘Sorry’.

Sigala scored the week’s biggest climb to register an entry to the top 10 when his song ‘Sweet Lovin’’ leaped from 68 to No: 3. The tropical house, club anthem has been online for 2 weeks and is supported by the soulful vocals of Bryn Christopher.

‘Sweet Lovin’’ is the follow up to Sigala’s debut single ‘Easy Love’ which was a No: 1 hit in September.

Coldplay is a rock band but since last year they have reached out to other genres. This time the band’s new single ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’ dabbles with dance pop/ disco.

The track entered the UK top 10 at No: 9 from 15 in its mercurial chart performance. The song is the first track to be taken off Coldplay’s new album ‘A Head Full of Dreams’.

‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’ debuted on the chart at No: 14 then dropped to 18 and 23 and like mercury reversed upwards to 15 and 9 this week.
