Robert Bosch Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group of Germany, recently opened its first office in Colombo to promote its businesses of automotive aftermarket (secondary market for replacements, spares), security systems, power tools and Thermo technology in Sri Lanka.

Bosch, a global supplier of technology and services, inaugurated its first office in Colombo in the presence of German Ambassador Dr. Juergen Morhard, and Dr. Steffen Berns, President of Bosch Group India. “With our newly setup local entity Robert Bosch Lanka (Pvt) Ltd we complement our presence in the region, after having been in India for over 90 years and recently having opened an office in Bangladesh. It is important for us to have a direct presence in Colombo which is the focal point of the country’s vivid economic activities,” Dr. Berns stated at the opening ceremony.

He said Sri Lanka has shown significant development in the recent years and is expected to further grow strongly in the years to come.
Over the past few months consumer spending has increased significantly. The country particularly offers many opportunities in the services sector which has contributed significantly to Sri Lanka’s gross domestic product (GDP), he pointed out.
