Gateway beat CIS to win Under 13 Basketball Championship
View(s):Gateway College Colombo overcame stiff resistance from CIS Colombo to win the Inter International School under 13 Basketball tournament with a score of 35 to 29. The tournament organised by CIS took place at the CIS court.
Gateway dominated the tournament with an unbeaten record. They beat Lyceum Nugegoda 62 to 38 at the semis and Gateway College Kandy 51 to 10 at the quarters. During the first round, Gateway beat Lyceum Wattala 52 to 48 and Colombo International School Kandy 49 to 6.
Gateway’s captain Mirthesh Thurairajah was named the most valuable player of the tournament and vice captain , Humam Rizq received the best defensive player award.
