A Sinhala adaptation of British playwright Ray Cooney’s ‘Funny Money’, directed by Dharmapriya Dias as “Saadaya Maarai, Salli Hamari,” (While the cash flowed, the party was perfect!) at 3.30 and 7.00 pm on February 8 at the Lionel Wendt, theatre Colombo. 

The Sri Lankan version of Cooney’s play revolves around a Sri Lankan couple Mr and Mrs. Fernando who live in England for the past 30 years. They undergo many hardships while helping family and friends. An unbelievable fortune unexpectedly falls on to their lap. How much money affects and shapes lives of common folk is revealed through Dias’ directorial venture-‘Saadaya Marai Salli Hamarai’.

The cast comprises of Gihan Fernando , Jayani Senanayake , Giriraj Kaushalya , Anuradha Perera,Dharmapriya Dias ,Dayadewa Edirisinghe ,Premjayantha Kapuge , Aloka Sampath and Anuradha Mallawaarachchi.

The adaptation is done by Saman Pushpa Liyanage while stage lighting is by Ranga Samarakone, set designing by Wasantha Ratnayake and stage manager is Aruna Jayasena. Costume designed by Gihan Fernando, make up by Prem Jayantha Kapuge, music by Ruwan Walpola and line producer is Ranga Samarakoon.
The play is produced by Priyankara de Silva.
