The visiting Sebastianites restored some kind of pride by batting much better second time round after losing on the first innings to the Antonians by 57 runs at Katugastota.

After early heroics from Ukgalpola, it was Kavindu Yapa Bandara who took the spotlight with a well compiled half century. The Fernandos – Pramesh and Rasika – bagged five and four respectively.

Sandaruwan Fernando 83 (4X13) and Muditha Fernando 70 not out (4X4, 6X1) joined forces in a big third wicket stand of 151. This allowed the visitors a luxury of a declaration.

125 in 13 overs was the target, and Kanishka Ukgalpola blazed away again to make an eye catching 56.

But the home team fell short. Promesh Fernando added another three to have a match bag of 8 for 120.

Currently languishing in the ‘B’ Division, the Antonians have dominated several ‘A’ Division sides in the last fortnight.
