The CFC FA Cup will reach every nook and corner in the near future. Already 628 clubs have contested in the event to be the worthy champions in 2014.

The President of FFSL whilst paying a tribute to CARGILLS said the partnership is not merely a sponsorship but a tower of strength to reach each and every soccer player in the country. “Today it is evident that from 174 clubs with 4000 players in 2013, it has increased to 628 clubs and over with 15000 registered players from all districts.” He said his ambition is to get 1000 clubs with over 25000 players in 2015. Continuing he said, “Players and clubs are given an opportunity to play the first round in their respective regions.”Mr. Rumaiz Rahim, Sports Marketing Head of Cargills said that they were happy to be Associated Partners of Football in Sri Lanka and expressed their satisfaction at the way the contest for the CARGILLS FOODCITY FA CUP 2013 was conducted and the spectacular finals that attracted a large number of fans which was not seen for over 15 years at a cup final.

He was also happy that the President and FFSL had achieved the self set target to attract 500 clubs this year and Cargills as partners will be much happier with 1000 clubs entering the scene in the future.
